Andrew Rothner – Founder & Coach, Mastery Climbing Collective

With over 25 years of climbing experience, Andrew Rothner has dedicated his life to mastering the craft of climbing and sharing its depth with others. As a youth competitor, he earned 3rd place at Youth Nationals and has since pushed his personal climbing to elite levels, including ascents up to V14 boulders, multiple 5.13+ trad multipitch routes, and adventures across the globe. One of his most memorable accomplishments was making the second free ascent of the Southeast Ridge of Cerro Torre in Patagonia—after only six months of focused training.

Beyond his own climbing achievements, Andrew brings a wealth of experience as a coach and educator. He has spent years coaching competitive youth teams, helping athletes reach their potential in a sport that is as technical and mental as it is physical. His academic background in psychology (B.A.), along with certifications as a Certified Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Corrective Exercise Specialist, give him a comprehensive understanding of training the body and mind for peak performance.

At the core of Andrew’s coaching philosophy is a passion for teaching climbing as the layered and dynamic discipline it is—one that can inspire growth, resilience, and mastery both on and off the wall.
